Winnie Saayman portrait

Winnie Saayman

Winnie Saayman was a social worker when the craft bug bit her. She spent hours on sculpting, pottery, cement work, knitting and crocheting, and of course, any form of painting.

For the past 18 years, she has been running Painting with a Difference and Dollie up Kitchens and she and her team (Rodney Speelman and Elmé Brown) are frequently asked to paint furniture, floors, walls, even a piano or two and to redo a kitchen. Winnie creates her own artworks on canvas too and some of her paintings have made their appearance at a few exhibitions. She views painting and any other creative activity, like cement work or art journaling, as an escape from reality, and she believes that every human being has a creative side that needs to be explored.
She currently lives in Durbanville, Cape Town, with her son, Jost.
